Boycotting Maternity Clothes

Okay, I’m not really boycotting maternity clothes completely, just right now. I’m at the point where I should probably at least start looking at getting a couple pairs of maternity pants, but I’m hesitating a lot. Why? I hate shopping. Especially shopping like this that I have never done before. I mean, what do I buy? And how does it all work? Then there’s the whole theme of my whole pregnancy: What do I need? Not what do I think is cute but absolutely unnecessary. Anyway, so far, I’ve been wearing pants that were a little too big to begin with and am growing into (and out of) those. I’ve been lucky so far in that all of my dress pants were already too big, and I had a gift card where I got a couple pairs of bigger sized jeans to tide me over until the maternity clothes stage. But I think in the next three to four weeks the maternity clothes stage will have to officially start.

So that’s where I need your help. What would you recommend that I get for maternity clothes? I work in an office 40 hours a week and it’s okay to wear nicer jeans there. I also don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for clothes either.

Oh the stresses of pregnancy…

Do this…get more wear out of your non maternity pants. With a belly band you can make it last even longer and in a month or two get lots of elastic waisted long skirts non maternity, and wear them through the summer and post pregnancy. at least thats what I would do. Old navy usually has the stretchy skirts and long tank tops you can layer to keep things covered.
