How to decide? The three fabric baby carriers listed in the title are very similar and so I’m having a hard time deciding which one I would like. All of them are similar in price and function.
The Moby Wrap is the one that has been most often recommended to me and also the one that has the most reviews. Not necessarily that the reviews are any better than the other options, there are just more quantity of reviews. The amount of good reviews makes me think well of the Moby, though some of the complaints are the fact that it is basically a long piece of fabric and it takes a bit to get used to how to wrap it around you to get it to work. Another complaint I’ve seen is that some reviewers didn’t like that you couldn’t really hold the baby while putting on the wrap. I will say that I don’t know of any carrier that you could hold onto the baby while putting it onto yourself.
The Boba Wrap is actually very similar to the Moby, except for the material is a bit more stretchy. Similar reviews to the Moby actually, it just appears that it because of it being more stretchy, it is easier to get the sizing just right for putting baby in the carrier.
The Baby K’tan does the same function as the Moby and Boba however, instead of being one long piece of fabric, it is actually two loops of fabric held together by a smaller loop of fabric. I’m leaning toward getting this particular one because it doesn’t take as much time or effort to put the thing on. It also seems like there’s not as much of a learning curve as to how to use the thing. The one thing that I’m not sure about, is whether it is easy to adjust as far as the sizing goes. If one loop is too long, can I adjust it to make it the size I need it? Is it better to just have the one long piece of fabric like the Moby or the Boba for flexibility in adjustment of the wrap?
Decisions, decisions. I realize that it probably doesn’t really matter what I end up choosing, I think it’s just that I have the time to mull it over right now so that’s what I’m doing. If you have any thoughts regarding any of them, let me know.

Okay, I’m not really boycotting maternity clothes completely, just right now. I’m at the point where I should probably at least start looking at getting a couple pairs of maternity pants, but I’m hesitating a lot. Why? I hate shopping. Especially shopping like this that I have never done before. I mean, what do I buy? And how does it all work? Then there’s the whole theme of my whole pregnancy: What do I need? Not what do I think is cute but absolutely unnecessary. Anyway, so far, I’ve been wearing pants that were a little too big to begin with and am growing into (and out of) those. I’ve been lucky so far in that all of my dress pants were already too big, and I had a gift card where I got a couple pairs of bigger sized jeans to tide me over until the maternity clothes stage. But I think in the next three to four weeks the maternity clothes stage will have to officially start.
So that’s where I need your help. What would you recommend that I get for maternity clothes? I work in an office 40 hours a week and it’s okay to wear nicer jeans there. I also don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for clothes either.
Oh the stresses of pregnancy…

The second trimester relief has started! Of course, I’ll probably say that and tomorrow I’ll feel awful, but it is wonderful to finally be able to feel like myself again (other than the fatigue). Being pregnant, I experience so many things I never expected. I never thought I could be even more emotional than I was already, but I can cry about a sandwich if you catch me at the wrong time. There’s also a lot of unknown about pregnancy. I can follow the pregnancy tracker on my iPad, but that’s only the ‘typical’ stuff like development and what I could be feeling (or not feeling). I’m learning that I’m not in control of anything. No matter how well I eat or other various things I’m careful about in my lifestyle, it is not up to me for the baby to develop, Jesus is doing all of that.
The thing that’s most weird for me is my belly growing. I’m naturally a very small person, so my baby belly looks more like I’ve been eating too many donuts (which is possible since we have them available at work every day). Problem with that: certain people want to see my bare belly every time I see them. Just so you know, I’m taking belly photos (not bare belly, mind you) and someday I might show them to you. 😉 The thing I’m not mentally ready for to go along with my growing belly is the maternity clothes (ugh, shopping! 😦 ). Someday I’ll probably have to break down and get them, but please not yet!
‘Til next time.

We’re excited to announce our blob! I’m about 12 weeks along and due August 15th! The following picture is from about three and a half weeks ago at my first appointment. You can’t see much other than a gray blob, hence the baby’s current endearing nickname of “The Blob.”
I’ve been feeling some morning sickness, but not anything too severe. Mostly nausea, fatigue, and loss of appetite. I’m nearing the end of the first trimester though and am looking forward to feeling better soon!
Bets on whether it’s a boy or girl?
2012 was quite a year for me. I always like to take a moment and look back on the year and use that to look forward into the next year. 2012 was quite a year. I mean, I got married…which is just crazy! I suddenly have a bunch of extended family really close to where I live (thanks to me marrying my husband), which was a bit to get used to (I’m not there yet). Anyway, I guess I’ll just list things, since that’s my style and helps me so that I can jump subjects rather suddenly and have an excuse for it. 🙂
- I got married to my best friend 🙂
- My husband graduated from college in May. (Yay!!)
- We moved to a new apartment
- We went on a vacation with my in-laws in July
- My uncle died rather suddenly in August 😦
- My job was crazy busy this summer because of the drought
- My dear friend sent me a link to Life Blessons, a blog that I now follow on a regular basis of a Godly woman who is an amazing writer and encourager.
- We have an amazing connection group who loves us and encourages us. We are so thankful for having close community within our church.
- We’re coming up on our first wedding anniversary (Jan 6th) and as a newlywed, our first year of marriage was full of ups and downs and decisions and arguments and laughter.
The fact that it’s almost 2013 is just crazy, I’m excited to see what God has in store for us this coming year. I’ll try to keep you posted…but you know how good I am at that. haha.
Peace and Blessings
